Bentonite is a mineral-rich natural clay.  It is composed of Montmorillonite, a smectite clay mineral is highly hygroscopic and adsorptive.

Our Bentonite Clay is an economical version of our ultra-fine pure Bentonite clay.  It is a very soft and natural cosmetic grade clay. Particle size: 80% smaller than 74 microns, 40% smaller than 44 microns. The presence of Montmorillonite also allows it to display potent detoxifying abilities, binding to and drawing out toxins and impurities in the skin to facilitate their removal.

Appearance: Fine off-white powder.

Applications: Bentonite Clay used for facial masks, mud masks, body wraps, moisturizers, deodorants, sunscreens, and makeup. Due to its swelling and colloidal properties, it adds thickness and body to emulsions while helping to disperse ingredients such as colorants. Added to water-based formulations, Bentonite Clay helps prevents watery or runny consistencies. It is also added to powder formulations to prevent cakiness or boost skin coverage in makeup. Bentonite clay can be used as a bath powder to soothe and rejuvenate the skin.
